Eating Well
Healthy eating dosen't have to be complicated. There are many guides available, all of which have a few basics:

Be sure to check labels, as portions can sometimes be deceiving - especially if you assume you're eating the right amount.
Grains that are whole should find their way into your bowl (at least half the time). .
Choose a variety of fruits and vegetables, too. Eat two cups of fruit daily (fresh, frozen, canned, or dried all count). Simply eating vegetables is a great start, but you should eat more of certain types: orange, dark green and leafy, to be exact.
If you're looking for protein, beans are a good way to go! pinto, kidney, black, garbanzo, lentils, and split peas work well.
Whatever you eat, make sure its lean.
Poultry and fish are the best. bake, broil, or grill to make them healthy as possible.
Limit your fat intake in other areas, too. Check for the amounts of saturated and trans fats, as well as cholestrol, in the foods you eat (keep trans fat consumption to as loow as possible).
